Toast the Jubilee in style

31/05/2022

The 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth's reign will be celebrated this weekend. Her Majesty The Queen will celebrate her Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth, and the Realms.

Need some ideas on how to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee this year? Here are some Goldex Sale and Letting approved tips to help enjoy the nation's celebrations this bank holiday.

Throughout Great Britain, the Jubilee of the Queen will be celebrated from Thursday 2nd June to Sunday 5th June 2022. Queen Elizabeth is now the country's longest-reigning monarch, surpassing the reign of Queen Victoria, who died at the age of 63.

Celebrating the Queen's Jubilee with a street party or a barbecue is a common way to honor her. Participating in this all-inclusive celebration means everyone can be a part of a historic moment.

Get out your GB Flag

What is a celebration without decorations? You can decorate for the Queen's Jubilee by hanging banners and streamers in the colors of the Great British flag: white, blue, and red. In 2022, balloon arches are a very popular trend when it comes to decorating. Since these have become so popular across all social media platforms, why not make one for your party? Amazon sells a Queen's Jubilee party pack for £30. This kit includes a DIY balloon arch, GB flag and bunting. Making crowns and cut outs of their majesty can also make your celebration a little more fun. Everyone will feel like a king or queen for the day.

Tea and Scones anyone?

If you are out in the sunshine why not have a BBQ? Holiday parties are best spent cooking together. You could also make your own afternoon tea with the classic British tea and scones or even a cheese board. Pop open the bubbly and get involved!

The Main Event

Listen to her majesty herself deliver her speech at the Queen's Jubilee. In celebration of the 2nd of June, when Queen Elizabeth gives a speech, it is important that we celebrate with her. Then why not bring your screen to the window where you can enjoy it with your family. There is no excuse to miss out on this amazing historic event.

Put your skills to the test

Why not put your baking skills to the test this Jubilee by making some amazing cakes? You can find some amazing cake recipes on Google or YouTube. If you want you could also get the kids involved and get creative with their baking. A sweet treat that all the family can enjoy.

Get the kids involved.

You could set up an arts and crafts station for the children to create their own crowns, so they can feel like royalty. Having a white, red, and blue theme is something everyone can participate in.

Be different

Instead of stressful parties and gatherings, why not visit London and see her majesty for yourself? Discover London and British culture for a day.

There are lots of events planned:

Thursday 2 June

  • Trooping the Colour. Celebrations start with the Queen's official birthday parade, ending with an RAF fly-past watched by members of the Royal Family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace
